So, in case you weren’t aware, today was the launch for the “eighth” Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I know I made a fuss about it with the blog post yesterday, and I fully intended to come to the event on time. I even slept earlier for it!
Well guess what. I still woke up late for it, even with a freaking alarm set. F. M. L. I didn’t catch either the countdown or the unboxing of the books, which were done at the same time as the rest of the world did it.
That said, I did manage to catch the start of the launch activities that the group, Pinoy Harry Potter , had planned specifically for the bet. It had started out with some of their members acting out scenes from the book, which of course immediately had me leaving the venue because I didn’t want to be spoiled.
While I was out having lunch, it turned out that I had an opportunity to win an illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which I obviously didn’t end up getting because I wasn’t at the venue — I was out stuffing my face. Books Before Burgers because burgers just make you look fat anyway.
There’s also a whole local-specific scandale that involved this book, but I don’t want to talk about that right now because 1.) It involves a lot of legal and business aspects that I found personally enthralling but will probably just bore my reader numbering in the ones, 2.) I’m waiting until I get more news because apparent something might happen tomorrow? Let’s see.
I’ve only started into Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and will probably have a review up by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. While waiting for that, here’s a few pictures from the launch!
